One of the UKs most inspiring and best known faith-based organisations is looking for a Policy Researcher to join the team.
The Salvation Army is one of the UK largest providers of support to people suffering from poverty, disadvantage, and social exclusion. As part of this provision we offer supported housing for people with experience of homelessness, residential care homes for older people with support needs, safehouses for victims of modern slavery, employment services for those who are economically inactive, debt counselling services, and run foodbanks and other community services.
In addition to running operational services, The Salvation Army aims to challenge the underlying structural forces that cause and intensify poverty and inequality. Our Public Affairs & Social Policy Unit campaigns at a national level to ensure that decision makers, including members of parliament, government ministers and civil servants, embrace policies that will make a positive difference to the lives of those with whom we work.
To achieve this aim, we need compelling and well researched arguments, drawing on the experience of Salvation Army services and those who use them across the UK. To help support this work, the Public Affairs & Social Policy Unit is looking to recruit a Policy Researcher who can play a leading role in developing our policy work and ideas on modern slavery. The Policy Researcher will also contribute to other key areas of policy, including adult social care.
Benefits: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays; a contributory pension scheme; season ticket loan; an employee assistance programme
This is an exciting time to be joining us at our Headquarters in London SE1. We will be moving in 2021, to our brand new offices in Denmark Hill SE5.
Appointment subject to satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK
