Job Description

SCS2 £88,000 to £110,000, London

The Crime, Policing and Fire Group (CPFG) is responsible for a wide of range of policies to keep our citizens safe, cut crime, protect the vulnerable, and to reform both the police and fire and rescue services to improve their efficiency and effectiveness.  This expanded role reports to the Director General, CPFG and will have responsibility for the ongoing development and implementation of a coherent strategy across the public safety system, incorporating Policing, Fire and Rescue Services.  

You will have a pivotal role in shaping the long-term strategic direction for the whole group, working across three key priorities: Strategy and Planning, Police Funding, and Sponsorship.  Key will be leading our thinking on how individual pieces of work on police reform, serious violence, or counter-extremism add up to delivering a coherent vision of the future.

We are looking for an effective strategic leader with a demonstrable ability to deliver both long term strategy development and tactical decision making in a fast moving, exposed and transformational change environment.  The ability to engage with stakeholders both internally and externally across a range of disciplines will be essential as will your ability to inspire and empower a team in an area of complexity and transformational change.  The rewards will be significant as you will help to shape the overall funding position for police and fire services for years to come.
