Director, Rail Infrastructure (North)

The Department for Transports goal is to create an efficient, reliable transport system that works for the people who depend on it; supporting a strong, productive economy and the jobs and homes people need.

The UKs transport system is used by most of the population every day, whether travelling to and from work, school, shops, hospitals, or meeting friends and family. The international freight industry ensures that there are food and goods in the shops, and prompt delivery of parts and raw materials.

We are now seeking a Director Rail Infrastructure (North), who is responsible for overseeing the planning, assessment and delivery of rail infrastructure enhancements from earliest inception through construction to entry in to service. You will play a key part in the delivery of tangible benefits for passengers, freight users and the wider economy. Decisions in relation to these enhancements will directly affect the rail journeys of millions of people every year.

To be successful in this role you will need to be exceptional at building and maintaining relationships you will work in collaboration with a variety of senior stakeholders and work across boundaries in an engaging and influencing way.
