Salary – £15,000 per annum

We are Onward, a leading provider of quality and affordable homes for rent and sale across the North West. Established in April 2018, Onward (formerly known as Symphony Housing Group) brought together five housing associations under one simple group structure united by a clear vision ‘To make a positive difference in the communities we serve.’

Proud to do so much more than just provide a roof over our customers’ heads, we own and manage over 35,000 homes and are now one of the largest registered providers of social housing based solely in the North West of England. We offer help and support to vulnerable people facing a range of challenges and play a pivotal role in creating strong and vibrant communities that our customers can be proud to be a part of. Committed to building more new homes for those in housing need, we are also delivering a major transformation change programme to further improve how we deliver our services.

Onward is moving forward at pace and our Board is high-performing, engaged and determined to deliver the best possible outcomes for our communities. There is now an outstanding opportunity for two new Non-Executive Directors to help us deliver our exciting plans for growth and build more high-quality homes. We’re looking for senior leaders from a variety of backgrounds with a proven strategic profile to bring their credibility, skills and insight to our strong and ambitious Board. 

We are particularly interested in candidates with commercial acumen who will bring to us an impressive track record of delivering customer service, digital or technology innovation from a variety of sectors; those from a broad public service background who will bring considerable senior level expertise; or experience of successful public / private partnerships. Having worked at board or senior executive level and developed a reputation for delivering impressive outcomes in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, you will share our passion for making a lasting difference to peoples’ lives and will be as excited about our considerable potential as we are.
