Fuller lives with arthritis today, and without it tomorrow. That’s what we want.

Our work is about uncovering the big ideas and little changes that help people break free from arthritis. That’s why we invest in breakthrough treatments, the best information and vital support for everyone affected by arthritis, so they can push back the limits imposed by the condition.  We are determined to make a real and positive difference to the lives of the 10 million people in the UK who live with arthritis and are confident that the recent merger of Arthritis Research UK and Arthritis Care will enable us to work together to help overcome the pain, isolation and fatigue of arthritis.

Our new Director of Digital, Technology and Data will make a significant contribution to our success in these endeavours as we evolve, contributing as a member of the transformational leadership team to post-merger transformation activity, whilst enabling us to maximise our impact through the optimal use of our data, underpinned by efficient and effective technology platforms.

Responsible for the definition and delivery of a coherent digital, technology and data strategy, you will collaborate and partner with colleagues throughout Arthritis Research UK to identify and respond to technology and data requirements, supporting our important research, fundraising activity and healthcare provision through the delivery of a robust enterprise wide digital and data ecosystem that will enable us to work smart and at pace.

Our desire to build longer-term relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders and beneficiaries is of paramount importance, so you will also help us unlock the potential of technology to facilitate seamless data collation and utilisation to achieve this. Investment in channel development will enable us to connect communities, raising awareness and gaining invaluable insight, whilst ensuring that all those with whom we engage experience an optimum user experience.

A strategic thinker and customer focused change agent, you will have performed a similar role in a data rich, information led environment and will consequently have delivered clear return from investment in digital technology and data.  With experience of having defined and executed numerous digital technology and data strategies, you will also bring first class transformation and delivery credentials, having scoped and delivered complex programmes of work and maximised the impact of emerging technologies.

You will be a clear communicator and accomplished relationship builder who excels when working in partnership with a range of colleagues and partners to define and deliver to common goals.  With a reputation for informing and enabling through the application of your subject matter expertise and your broad frame of reference, you will be a credible, inspiring and pragmatic technology leader, with a developmental stylex and an aptitude for sharing and embedding best practice, ensuring that we maintain data and technology compliance whilst embracing opportunities to innovate.

This is an opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of the millions of people in the UK who suffer from arthritis and we’re excited to find out how we can work together to maximise our impact.
