Job Description

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

Remuneration: £13,688 per annum for minimum 3 days a month

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is one of the biggest and busiest acute NHS trusts in the North West region, with an income of approximately £335 million and more than 5,500 staff.  We are the largest employer in Wirral and provide a full range of acute healthcare services across the Wirral peninsula, Ellesmere Port and Neston, operating from three main sites.

We are focused on providing exceptional patient and family centred care to the communities we serve. We deliver this through integrated, seamless, continuous pathways of care enabled by innovation and leading edge technology.  Central to our strategic development is the transformation of services locally and we have made good progress in developing closer collaborative working relationships within the broader Cheshire & Merseyside Health & Care Partnership.  Having recently experienced some governance challenges, we are now seeking to develop an engaging and empowering culture across the organisation; establishing clear accountability and a commitment to continual quality improvement.

Following a significant change in the organisational leadership we are seeking two experienced, talented Non-Executive Directors who will add value to our Board in providing support, insight, passion, scrutiny and challenge.  We're particularly interested in hearing from those with expertise at a senior level in leading complex organisations through transformational change in either the public, private or third sector and for the second role from those with a background at or near Board level in the higher education sector. For both roles an understanding of robust corporate governance and an absolute commitment to our values will be essential.   In return these roles will be challenging and rewarding, offering you the opportunity to shape future health and social care services for the people of Wirral.

To find out more go to www.wuth-leadership.com and contact Emma Pickup or Robin Staveley on 0113 205 6289 for an initial discussion.

Closing date:  Friday 27 April;

Final interviews: w/c 4 June
