Great Britains gambling industry is in a constant state of change, fuelled by shifting consumer behaviour and the rapid growth of technology. Its high profile politically too, and the legislation controlling gambling is constantly under scrutiny. Within this uniquely challenging and evolving environment, The Gambling Commissions role is to ensure that gambling is crime free, fair and open - and that children and vulnerable people are protected.

They now need you to join the key Data and Risk Programme as a Data Manager and facilitate the delivery of accessible and authoritative data to underpin the regulation of gambling across Great Britain.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a data management professional to develop and progress with a leading regulatory body.

As a Data Manager, you will be tasked with overseeing the Gambling Commissions data management function.

As a strategic imperative for the organisation, data management needs to be evidence-led, risk-based and outcome-focused in the manner in which it functions. You will build and sustain this way of thinking and the Gambling Commissions approach to data management, establishing the structure and embedding best practice where possible.

You will lead the development and delivery of the data management architecture, policies, projects and processes, ensuring there is a robust lifecycle approach. Overseeing the development of the associated strategy, you will maintain data governance, establish data requirements, map and manage workflows and raise data quality standards.

Managing a small team of two - three colleagues, you will work closely with the Data Analytics Function and the IT Programme, as well as managing any data-related third-party contracts.

Interested? If so, you will need:

- Previous experience in a data management role

- Experience of implementing best practice data management principles and practices

- A proven track record of managing and delivering successful data management-related projects

- At a minimum, a degree-level qualification (or equivalent), ideally in a subject that covers data management disciplines or modules

As a Data Manager, youll need to be a leader and have the ability to influence and motivate others. Youll be comfortable working independently and will have plenty of initiative. Possessing strong relationship-building skills, you will also need a compelling and effective communication style.
