Job Description

ARU Students Union represents approximately 20,000 students at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU). We are a union that wants to build a personal connection to all students, supporting them to collaborate and achieve their ambitions. We will achieve this aim with our ambitious 2016-19 strategy; delivered through our student engagement, activities, entertainment, volunteering and advice services. Our role is to both support and challenge the University, though our jointly agreed Principles for Partnership to continue to deliver a fantastic student experience, and we work closely to aid the delivery of the ARU Strategy 2017-2026. We are a registered charity and company limited by guarantee. Our activities are managed and supported by 34 professional staff members and 55 part-time student staff who work for us alongside their studies. We have a turnover of approximately £2 million per annum and our activities are spread across campuses in Cambridge, Chelmsford and Peterborough. 35 hours per week (Flexibility Required) £26,884 per annum Cross Campus We are looking for an innovative, highly motivated and collaborative person to lead our Engagement team. We have spent the first half of our strategic plan undertaking fundamental changes to our engagement and representation structures and are seeking someone to build on this work and take it to the next level. You will lead and manage the core democratic, representative and campaigning functions of the union, as well as play a leading role in the design and delivery of a new elected student officer support system. You will manage a large team of talented and energised staff across the core campuses of ARU. Essential to the role is experience of developing plans to increase participation and engagement and experience of project management and/or service development.
