The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) is responsible for prosecuting criminal cases investigated by the police in England and Wales. We provide leadership within a criminal justice system that is undergoing significant reform. As Inclusion and Community Engagement Manager for your Area, you will play a pivotal role in addressing issues ranging from equality, inclusion and diversity though to casework quality. We will look to you to develop our public confidence and inclusion strategy at a local level, which will include legislative compliance and a mainstreaming approach. Crucially, you will provide the advice, guidance, challenge and support necessary to make sure it is delivered. Acting as an ambassador, you will represent CPS at a local level, fashioning relationships with key internal, external, CJS stakeholders and the public. Influencing at a strategic level you will ensure CPS issues and learning from the communities are given suitable consideration.
Chief Crown Prosecutors, Area Business Managers and other senior managers will rely on your expertise and insight, while youâll also work closely with the Director of Prosecution Policy and Inclusion on national initiatives. You will play a significant role in increasing public confidence in the CPS and our casework, with a particular focus on how we deal with hate crimes and violence against women. Enjoying a high degree of autonomy, youâll lead on a vision of improvement within the CPS, while engaging with local influencers in the statutory, community and voluntary sectors.
To be equal to the challenge, youâll need the ability to find ways of improving systems and structures. Know how to identify and address capability requirements and gaps, as well as emerging issues and trends. What really sets you apart is your flair for building relationships, both internally and externally, and your confidence to challenge, influence and guide others.
