Status: Permanent, full time 36 hours per week. Location: Home based, this is a national role requiring travel all over England. Salary: £42,986.31 per annum Closing Date: 5pm on 9 th October 2017 Interview date: 3rd November in London Skills for Care is the employer-led workforce development body for adult social care in England which is a growing sector that currently has around 17,000 employers and a workforce of around 1 .5 million workers contributing an estimated ‚£43 billion to the English economy. In June 2014, we merged with the National Skills Academy for Social Care , to maximise the impact of our combined knowledge and expertise in the sector. Together, we work with employers and other partners to create a fit for purpose qualifications framework and practical resources to develop the skills, knowledge and leadership of the workforce. Our work helps our sector recruit and retain the right people who have the rights skills at the right time to deliver high quality services to people who need care and support in our communities. The Regulated Professional Workforce (RPW) team at Skills for Care provide a range of projects and programmes primarily supporting employers of social workers, nurses and occupational therapists. These include the ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) - managing the moderation process, grant disbursement and employer resources, development and employer support for new knowledge and skills statements, nurses return to practice pilot, and at least 2 long term programmes generating additional income. The postholder will be responsible for leading on allocated projects and contributing specific input to others. They will be part of the delivery team for commissioned work including the Principal Social Workers Professional Leadership Development Programme and the Practice Endorsement Programme for SE London Teaching Partnership. The postholder will maintain and develop internal and external stakeholder relationships. Extensive experience of developing, managing and delivering a wide range of workforce and organisational development projects is key to the success of this role. Additionally you will have experience of professional education and post qualifying development having personally delivered work based learning and/or workforce and organisational development activities in this area. You will have a demonstrable background in professional practice or education. Ideally, you will be educated to level 6, with a professional qualification or relevant degree leading to qualification and/or registration in a relevant professional group (e.g. social work, nursing, occupational therapy) and will possess relevant experience in project management. We are currently recruiting for two project managers in the team and require one post to be held by a qualified/registered social worker to meet current commitments to commissioners/clients. You will have experience in presenting and communicating to large and small groups, and assessing and supervising professional development or practice and ideally be skilled (with relevant qualifications where appropriate) in action learning, mentoring, coaching or other group facilitation techniques, in addition to working with supporting office and administration functions.
