ACCOUNTABLE TO: Participation & Events Manager SALARY: 26,000 per year CONTRACT: Permanent, Full-Time RESPONSIBLE FOR: Up to 15 Student Staff CLOSING DATE: 24 September 2017 PLEASE DO NOT UPLOAD A COVER LETTER OF CV ONLY APPLICATIONS SUBMITTED ON A UWLSU APPLICATION FORM WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE JOB PURPOSE To develop and support Course based communities programmes and academic groups To develop and support Cultural, Faith and Identity programmes and groups. Contribute to the Community and Belonging Teams strategic and operational planning. Supervise up to 15 student staff and up to 1000 student volunteers and provide operational support to the Vice President Activities and Participation. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To develop and support course based communities programmes and academic groups. Coordinate functions relating to course based community activity, including the following activities: Training Organising student groups Events Delivery of campaigns/activities/events Project management Responsible for day to day spending within assigned budgets. Deliver a number of projects from initiation to completion and evaluation. Investigate existing research to identify where there is need for development of course based communities and academic groups. Maintain accurate records of participation in course based communities, including instructing volunteers to capture data. Support the Events and Participation Manager as required. To develop and support Cultural, Faith and Identity programmes. Coordinate student led liberation, cultural and diversity campaigns, as directed by feedback from students (e.g. Black History Month, International Womens Day, Multi Faith Week). Coordinate functions relating to Cultural, Faith and Identity activity, including the following: Training Organising student groups Events Delivery of campaigns/activities/events Project management Assist in the promotion of Cultural, Faith and Identity Societies to the Student body and raise their profile within the University. Investigate existing research to identify where there is need for development of Cultural, Faith and Identity programmes. Maintain accurate records of participation in Cultural, Faith and Identity programmes, including instructing volunteers to capture data. Support Societies to participate in Students Union events and campaigns. Contribute to the Community and Belonging Teams strategic and operational planning. Contribute to strategic planning decisions by putting forward ideas to improve student activities based of research and insight. Contribute to the Community and Belonging Teams operational planning by planning activities, tasks, and projects as assigned by the Events and Participation Manager. Measure, monitor and develop participation and suggest improvement for long term impacts of participation. Develop and maintain key internal and external relationships. Supervise up to 15 student staff and up to 1000 student volunteers and operational support to the Vice President Activities and Participation Responsible for up to 15 student staff and up to 1000 student volunteers Organisation and delivery of training for student groups, ensuring that appropriate content is delivered. Responsible for providing sabbatical officers with key information relating to student activities. To ensure that student groups are compliant with the necessary health and safety documentation.
