Chief Executive, Midlands Engine

The Midlands Engine is a partnership between Central Government and local stakeholders local authorities, Local Economic Partnerships, business and education leaders designed to boost the economy of the Midlands. It is chaired by Sir John Peace and is overseen by a Supervisory Board comprising senior representatives of partner organisations. Built on a strong advanced manufacturing base and enhanced by a range of sectoral strengths, the Midlands Engine is perfectly positioned to take advantage of economic growth, productivity and skills opportunities. The Chief Executive will play a critical role in driving, delivering and communicating the Midlands Engine partnerships programme of work enabling it to achieve a high level of positive recognition nationally and internationally; positioning it and its partner organisations to ensure the greatest impact from current funding and approaches, to secure further funding and investment and to influence policies and programmes. Able to operate at the most senior levels of business and government, your background has given you a strong understanding of how organisations across the public, private and not for profit sectors can work effectively together to create and foster the conditions for faster economic growth.
