As the Area Manager/Area Matron, you will lead and manage a cohesive area team in the delivery of a safe and sufficient blood and component supply, across several blood donation teams. Committed to and holding all to account for the delivery and continuous improvement of an excellent donor experience, maximising donor loyalty and retention through leading and managing several blood donation teams within a specific area. Accountable for achieving all key performance indicators through visible, confident and assured leadership and performance management. With responsibility for the delivery of efficiency and sufficiency strategic targets within the geographical area of management control. Being an effective leader of change, constantly seeking opportunities to recognise best practice (both within NHSBT and in other organisations) and incorporate this into day to day operations of nursing services. You will undertake the role and responsibilities of the Blood Donation designated MHRA Responsible Person (RP) for a named blood centre(s) as described in the Blood Safety and Quality Regulations 2005 on behalf of the Blood Establishment Responsible Person. NHS Blood and Transplant faces a key challenge of encouraging more members of the Black African and Black Caribbean communities to come forward and give blood. In this post, you will be located in one of the prime areas of opportunity to do this and as such experience of liaison with Black African and Black Caribbean communities would be an advantage. Based in Tooting there will be in addition to the salary an Inner London High Cost Area Supplement of 20% of the basic salary subject to a minimum payment of �4,200 per annum and a maximum payment of �6,469 per annum.
