Job Description

Project Coordinator (ERDF) Biodiversity Infrastructure Improvement In 2016 Nottingham City Council won the "Council of the year" award for the second time ~ the first council to do so. A big part of this success is our almost 8,000 staff who come from a variety of backgrounds. We are a good place to work, with award winning practices. This also means we are a good place to come from with this vacancy coming about because the current occupant is moving into her dream job. A large element of our success is attracting funding from external sources to help provide services and improve the infrastructure in the City. Recently we have done well with such including the funding (from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)) for this post, which runs until the last day of December 2019. The position has a starting salary of £31,601, rising to £33,437 after a year, subject to the satisfactory completion of a probation period. More information on our terms and conditions including pay, annual leave, hours of work and benefits, are in the application documents. This position is one of two we currently have vacant in the team (we expect more in the next few months). The other being the D2N2 Growth Hub Project and Finance Coordinator. Both are advertised at the same time. As they have the same job description and person specification, if you wish to apply for both positions please put a statement to that effect on the top of your personal statement. The Project Nottingham City Council is leading a large ERDF partnership project to improve the biodiversity in parts of the wider Nottingham and Derby areas. It is an ambitious project where public parks, riversides, and pathways will see an increase in the variety of species present and become spaces that are more enjoyable. In this job, no two days are the same, one day you could be working on budgets and spreadsheets, or collecting evidence for claims, the next at a partners meeting, visiting operation sites, or writing reports for funders. The job is based at Loxley House in Nottingham with some travel to partners, and operational sites to ensure that it complies with ERDF rules. We are looking for someone who has: - Overseen projects with a number of internal and external partners and stakeholders - Delivered the administration for complex funded programmes, ensuring compliance with project rules, governance and funding body procedures - An eye for detail whilst still seeing the big picture - An interest in improving open spaces (although this is not essential) - Good IT skills This post is a readvertisement. Most people the first time round were not successful because they did not follow the guidance for completing the form. When applying look at the person specification and tell us how you meet the points in it with examples from work, home, or leisure activities. We want to know what you did and with what result. To find out more please look at the Job Description/Person Specification and further information which are attached further down. For informal enquiries please contact Aidan Jackson Tel: 0115 8763150/07908435332 Email: aidan.jackson@nottinghamcity.gov.uk. We particularly welcome applicants from black, minority, ethnic communities and disabled people as they are currently under represented within our workforce. Nottingham City Council is open to conversations regarding flexible working options at the point of interview.
