Job Description

The International Transport Workers� Federation (ITF), a London-based international federation of around 700 transport trade unions in 150 countries representing over 4.5 million transport workers, is looking for a Senior Section Assistant (B1) Dockers� Section to be based in London and to start as soon as possible.

This is a high profile position in a busy and dynamic team playing an essential role in delivering the Dockers� Section�s global priorities. We are looking for a candidate with strongly-defined corporate research skills and the ability to manage data in effective and accurate formats. The successful candidate will have experience of involvement in campaigns and solidarity activity as well as the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

The ideal candidate will need experience and knowledge of the role and work of trade unions as well as strong written and oral communication skills. Excellent analytical and problem solving skills will be required as well as the ability to exercise a high level of discretion, diplomacy, judgement and initiative in a complex political environment. Experience of developing social media networks is desirable. Due to the nature of the organisation and the role, knowledge of a second language would be an advantage.

Excellent conditions accompany a starting salary of �44,492.00 per annum plus an annual bonus of �3,707.67, rising to �52,786.00 per annum plus an annual bonus of �4,398.83. Annual leave will start at 22 days per annum pro-rata in the year of joining. Other details of the conditions applicable are available on request including a relocation package.
