Job Description

For over 150 years the University for the Creative Arts in Canterbury, Epsom, Farnham, Maidstone and Rochester has been leading the way for art and design education. At UCA we are 100% creative. As a specialist arts university, each of our campuses holds a vibrant community of artists, designers, scholars and creative arts professionals. Oscar winning film makers, world-renowned fashion designers, celebrity jewellers and Turner Prize nominees are just some of our high-profile graduates. We are now seeking to appoint an external member to our Board of Governors to help drive forward our strategic vision to be internationally recognised as a leading creative arts university. We are looking for an individual with experience of leading private or public sector organisations, who is interested in further and higher education and the creative arts. To ensure the right balance of skills, we are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas: accountancy or digital transformation. Ideal candidates will possess the independence to make a significant contribution to board discussions, and the collegiality necessary for maintaining effective working relationships. Governors are not paid. However travel and subsistence whilst on University business are re-imbursed.
