Job Description

Salary: 49,233 per annum (i.e. 27.05 per hour) Hours of work: Full time, 35 hours per week Location: The Homestead, York Term: Permanent The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) and Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT) are working together to inspire social change through research, policy and practice. We want to see a prosperous poverty free UK where everyone can play their part. We are now seeking an experienced senior manager to lead the Financial Services team and fulfil transactional finance requirements of all our customers. The role will report into, and work closely with the Deputy Director of Financial Services. Delivering through effective leadership, the Head of Financial Services will have accountability for driving efficiencies and continuous improvement of finance transactional processes across the organisation. The post-holder will ensure excellent standards of customer service from the team and be a role model to the team, encouraging new ideas, best practices and effective team working. The successful applicant must be positive, flexible, change-oriented and able to demonstrate skilled leadership of operational financial services. Experience of supporting a range of social and care-related services would be ideal. The implementation of clear and accessible organisation-wide financial transactional policies and guidance will be a key initial project. Experience of delivering excellent customer service is essential as is the ability to challenge ways of working and embed best practice through engagement at all levels, both internally and externally. The individual should have a good knowledge of financial management and accounting procedures and relevant qualification such as ACA, or ACCA Professional or CIMA (Operational PA1 and Management P2). This is a challenging role that also requires excellent people management and communication skills.
