The Joseph Rowntree Foundation is an independent organisation working to inspire social change through research, policy and practice. We want to see a prosperous UK where everyone can play their part. As an HR Adviser, you will be central to everything we do, as you provide expert HR support across the organisation.

You will enjoy a remit spanning employee relations, polices and procedures, recruitment, rewards and HR project work. You will advise line managers on best practice and drive forward some interesting projects, so you can expect considerable challenge and variety.

To join us, you will ideally hold a relevant professional qualification or have appropriate significant experience. You should be an effective agent of change, with demonstrable ability to build collaborative relationships and engage diverse audiences. This will be backed by in-depth knowledge of employment legislation, an extremely organised and methodical approach and a high level of IT literacy and you must be capable of using your good analytical skills to take clear and considered decisions. In return, you can expect to make a measurable contribution to a charity that transforms lives every day.

This role will be based at The Homestead in York but will require regular travel to our retirement village, Hartfields which is in Hartlepool. Therefore, the ability to travel 2-3 days a week and a current driving licence is essential.
