Job DescriptionSalary: £49,233 per annum (or £54,233 with London Weighting if post based in London)
Hours of Work: Full Time, 35 hours per week
Location: York or London (with frequent travel in the UK)
The Joseph Rowntree Foundation is an independent organisation working to inspire social change through research, policy and practice. Reporting into the Chief Economist, this role will manage a small team who will, in collaboration with JRF teams, design, drive forward and manage a refreshed data monitoring and analysis function to provide pro-active analysis of social, economic and public policy trends and changes affecting people and places in poverty. The role will work with their team to monitor progress towards our vision of a poverty free and prosperous UK.
A key senior spokesperson and senior manager for the organisation, this role will be responsible for extending the impact, influence, reach and relationships of the Joseph Rowntree Foundation. The role will provide thought leadership and evidence based analysis on poverty and will contribute to strategic thinking, development and leadership of the organisationís ambitious programmes on ending poverty in the UK.
To be successful in this role you will be educated to postgraduate level or equivalent with strong leadership and management skills, supported by your strong level of experience of working strategically. Experience of using qualitative and/or quantitative research and of using and producing influential analysis relevant to public policy and debate in the UK is essential.
You will have excellent communication and analytical skills, together with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of people at all levels. You will be able to work pro-actively to deliver to the organisationís strategic objectives and have a high level of political awareness, together with a high level of social, economic and public policy understanding. This role will require frequent travel and the ability to travel at short notice for media interviews.
