Job Description

Full time: 35 hours per week Salary: 29,717 (including London weighting) Location: London Influencing policy makers and practitioners to bring about positive lasting social change is a fundamental part of JRF and JRHTs organisational purpose. We are looking for a Senior Public Affairs Officer who can ensure that we are building the right relationships with influencers, politicians and policy makers across the political spectrum. The successfully candidate needs to be able to provide strategic public affairs input into influencing strategies which support organisational and programme objectives. This role will be based in London with frequent travel to JRFs headquarters in York, and occasional travel throughout the UK. We are looking for someone with a highly developed political awareness and commitment to political independence; knowledge of public policy and an understanding of social research along with an ability to communicate research and statistical data. As a team player who can work across a number of areas you will have strong interpersonal skills including a positive and proactive approach with a focus on collaboration and finding solutions. The role is part of the Communications and External Affairs Directorate, and is located within the Public Affairs Team which includes the functions of public and parliamentary affairs, events, and partnerships. The role reports to the Head of Public Affairs and line manages the Public Affairs Officer.
