With over 12,000 homes throughout the borough of Rochdale, we are England’s first co-owned mutual housing society. Being a mutual not only reflects Rochdale’s co-operative heritage, it also means that we are co-owned by, and accountable to, our tenants and employees.

Following the tragic death of Awaab Ishak, and the subsequent regulatory intervention, RBH has experienced a considerable amount of change and transformation. We’re determined to put customers at the heart of everything we do and our recovery plan, which we agreed with our regulator, focuses on making improvements to how we deliver our services, with five key themes centred on: Customers; Communities; People; Homes; and Governance.

We’re currently looking for two new Non-Executives to join our Board with skills in the following areas:

- Experience of ensuring that digital and technology strategies and solutions enhance the experience of customers. You’ll help us navigate the pressing issues in the technology space and advise on how best to embrace new technology.

- Senior leadership experience in diversity, inclusion and belonging. You’ll bring the skills, experience and passion required to help deliver an embedded culture of real and tangible inclusion, supporting us to achieve an inclusive culture in every aspect of our work, especially for our customers and communities.  

Good governance is critically important to us here at RBH as we transition towards full recovery and compliance with the governance standards – as a Board we aspire to be not just good, but excellent.
