Salary: Grade B: £39,390 (National Framework) or £44,792 (London Framework if you are London office-based or home-based and live within the boundary of the M25) there is also an additional homeworking allowance of £553 per annum for those working from home. For part time roles please note, this will be pro rata.
Senior Media Advisers receive an on-call allowance of £3,250 per annum as they are required to be available for on-call duties with the media.

The Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigation (MNSI) Programme is part of a national strategy to improve maternity across the NHS in England and was moved to be hosted by the CQC on the 1st of October 2023.
The programme is part of the overall national ambition to improve maternity safety and reduce harm by 50% by 2025. The programme was fully rolled out across England in April 2019 and, in 2022, a commitment was made to continue the programme for a further five years and there are currently three years of this term remaining.
We are now looking for a Senior Media Advisor to join the MNSI team on a full-time basis for a 23-month secondment opportunity.

To be considered as a Senior Media Advisor, you will need:
- Experience of working in a national press office
- Experience of leading on projects within a press office environment and as part of team
- Experience of planning and delivering high-profile national stories
- Experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in crisis management
- Experience in advising senior staff on media relations tactics, opportunities, and issues
- Experience of utilising media evaluation metrics
- Experience of using multimedia platforms, including social media, in a professional capacity
- Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills
What youll be doing
As a Senior Media Advisor, you will deliver robust and effective media relations advice.
Working in our fast-paced national press office, you will lead on high profile national stories and respond to time-critical issues, focusing on our work with the MNSI programme.
You will deliver national media relations to support the programme and provide advice to senior members of staff.
Contributing to other communications projects, you will ensure that media work to support the MNSI programme is aligned with our wider media strategy.
Additionally, you will:
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, media outlets and key stakeholders
- Provide calm and measured responses to time-critical situations
- Prepare well-written materials and communications
- Respond flexibly and proactively to time-critical changes in priorities
- Keep up to date with the changing external context in which we work
