We have a fabulous job opportunity for a Handy Person to join our awesome Handy Person Team. We are the multi skilled hands-on practical support that helps our colleagues deliver services to our customers. As a business we support customers with differing support needs ranging from Mental Health, Learning and or physical disabilities in a wide range of properties and grounds. As our handy person youll spend much of your time working across our different services / extra care service and or properties.

Typical day as a Handy Person

Doing minor or emergency repairs, decorative touches or even cleaning in our properties or communal areas

Doing things like hanging curtain poles, moving furniture, touching up paints, changing tap washers, unblocking sinks, mowing lawns, and clearing grounds or properties.

Carrying out regular Fire Safety checks

Working with colleagues, commercial partners and customers throughout your day.

Liaising with our Customer Service Centre and external contractors to report repairs outside of your remit and chase up outstanding works.

About You

A team player with a can-do attitude and enthusiasm.

Youre multi skilled with general maintenance skills, know a bit about general repairs, carpentry, basic plumbing and can wield a broom or paint brush!

Comfortable working and communicating with people from all walks of life

It would be amazing if you have been a handy person in a previous job, but its not a deal breaker.

Able to use technology for completing expense claims, mandatory training and outlook

To get from A to B, youll need a vehicle insured for business purposes. The great news is that well pay your mileage!

Job details

We (mostly) work Monday to Friday, 9 am 5 pm, but were flexible and as long as we can meet our customers need, we can flex your work patterns to suit you.

Based at our service in Birmingham youll spend your time travelling around the properties in our Midlands patch, predominantly in Birmingham City, Halesowen, Sutton Coldfield, Solihull and Derbyshire

Occasionally you will travel outside of our patch / service to work on a property that you may not have worked on before, or when we have an all hands on deck situation.

Youll need a Standard DBS check done and we pay for that.
