This is a unique and exciting opportunity to shape and lead significant elements of the CMAs work to establish and lead the new digital markets regulation function, overseeing the regulation of the most powerful digital firms as laid out by the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers (DMCC) Bill. The CMA is an ambitious organisation with a progressive and innovative vision. If you are motivated by a dynamic and challenging environment where you will do important work in the public interest, then this could be the ideal role for you.

We are seeking to appoint two Senior Directors for Digital Markets, vital and exciting roles with responsibility for leading the Digital Markets Unit (DMU) and implementing the new digital markets regulatory regime being introduced through the DMCC Bill to promote greater competition and innovation in digital markets.

As a member of the CMAs Senior Leadership Team and reporting to the Executive Director, Digital Markets, you will wield considerable visibility and influence across the CMA. Your role will lead work assessing Strategic Market Status within digital market firms, as well as supporting the Executive Director with the growth, development and leadership of the teams working in this new area of regulatory oversight. With an expected team size of up to 200 colleagues across the function, you will collaborate with and advise at all organisational levels, facilitating well-informed decision-making to optimise outcomes for people, businesses, and the UK economy.

You will be an accomplished leader with a proven record and understanding of business, consumer and competition issues in digital markets. We are open to what professional background you may be from, but you will possess a demonstrable track record of making impactful strategic decisions, of engaging with a wide array of stakeholders at a very senior level, and of cultivating, empowering, and inspiring professional teams to achieve exceptional outcomes. Your personal integrity and capacity to integrate substantial subject matter expertise with strategic acumen and operational excellence will not only be critical to excelling in this role but also to advancing our mission.

The CMA is a hugely rewarding, diverse and stimulating place to work we offer an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. All CMA staff enjoy generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, and favourable consideration of flexible working.
