About the role

We have a new opportunity to join us as a Network Development Officer as part of the National Cycle Network delivery team.

This is an exciting chance to make a difference by delivering infrastructure projects which remove barriers and simplify active travel for people who walk, wheel and cycle.

As the Network Development Officer, you will work to enhance and build upon the National Cycle Network as part of our Paths for Everyone vision.

You will be engaging with internal and external partners, volunteers and stakeholders. Managing their incoming communications and ensuring external enquiries are dealt with in a timely fashion.

You will be planning and organising tasks to ensure project deadlines are completed and client expectations are met.

You will also ensure thorough project documentation and monitoring compliance with ecological, climate change and equality standards.

We offer true hybrid working, a flexible mix of working from home and occasional travel to nearby office hubs in Edinburgh or Glasgow.

About you

You should have the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of people from varied backgrounds, enabling engagement with various partners and interested parties.

You will have excellent organisational skills, which enable you to plan, prioritise and manage your workload, whilst working to tight deadlines.

With an outstanding capacity to solve problems, you will be self-sufficient and able to make decisions with minimal guidance.

We ask you demonstrate your knowledge of the issues surrounding walking and cycling infrastructure or general transportation issues.

Sustrans has a long-term commitment to being a charity for everyone - reducing inequality, valuing diversity, enabling inclusion and ensuring all people are treated with dignity and respect.

We aim to be a truly inclusive employer and welcome applications from people from all parts of the community, in particular from under-represented groups.
