Location: Flexible Hybrid working, 2 days a week in the office (please see job details)

Salary circa £45,000 p.a. negotiable dependent on skills and experience

Join Home Group as our Housing and Property Litigation Lawyer providing vital legal support on matters of housing management and property litigation to colleagues. 

You will be acting for the business in both defending legal cases and taking legal actions as necessary as well as working with our Head of Housing and Development legal team.  

Typical day as a Housing Property Litigation Lawyer 

Handle and give advice on issues like anti-social behaviour or possession cases.

Help other teams within Home Group, to understand and respond to property litigation matters and claims.

Oversee work given to outside firms, making sure it's done well and effectively.

Preparing applications ready for court or tribunal, carrying out research, preparing disclosures, and writing statements. On Occasion you may be required to represent the company in court or request that another lawyer do so.

Assisting with other property legal issues, such as disrepair, when necessary.

You are

A qualified legal executive, solicitor, or barrister with experience in housing law and housing litigation, capable of managing your own caseload.

A problem solver, working on a wide range of different case types including ASB, Leasehold, injunctions, and possession cases, offering advice on a wide range of topics to find the best solution for the customers and business.

Negotiating out-of-court settlements, with an insight into court rules regarding costs, drafting and preparing court or tribunal documents, attending court proceedings where required.

Knowledgeable / have experience in dispute resolution and offering dispute avoidance advice with a firm understanding of civil procedure rules and housing law.

Capable of working independently yet effectively as part of a wider team.

An effective communicator with robust interpersonal skills, able to interact successfully with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders.  

Due to limits on our current certificates of sponsorship, we are not able to offer sponsorship to external candidates for this role.  This remains under regular review.

Our team

You’ll join our newly shaped Housing and Property Litigation Team. Our team is managed by Shn who has a wealth of experience in housing law and comes from a background in housing. She is ready placed to support you when you join. Outside of work she is preparing for her next dan on her black belt!

You’ll manage your own diary, so if you need to nip out to walk the dog or do the school run, we’re ok with that!

We are flexible on location and have numerous offices you can work from across the UK. As a national team we all come together one per quarter in Newcastle.

This is a full-time role but are open to negotiating your working pattern.
