Job Description

£45,000 – £55,000 pro-rated and dependent on experience.

2 year Fixed-Term-Contract - part-time/full-time considered

Location – Hybrid working split between the Foundation’s office in London and home.

With the recent announcement that £205 million of government funding will be made available to invest in community sports facilities across England in the next three years, the Football Foundation is well-supported to continue to invest in pitches and communities across the nation. This investment will be used by the Football Foundation to target communities up and down the country who will benefit most from access to better sports facilities.

To help us with this important mission, we currently have a vacancy for an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Lead who will work with managers at all levels to influence, inform, plan and initiate EDI work across the Foundation

The role

Our ambition is to embed EDI principles at the heart of what we do, to bring about meaningful change to the way we operate. In doing so, we are determined to be an inclusive and diverse organisation that understands the communities we serve.

We’ve made some progress towards our EDI ambition. We better understand the challenges we face and have a strong foundation to build on, but we know there’s still a long journey ahead and we’re committed to developing as an organisation. To support us on this journey, we’re looking for an EDI Lead to drive the Foundation’s EDI ambitions, with the opportunity to really make a difference for our team, our grant applicants and those who use Football Foundation funded sites.

What are we looking for?

You don’t need to follow football to apply, but it is expected that you appreciate the power of sport to change lives and have a genuine interest in using your skills and experience to help the Foundation achieve our charitable and strategic objectives.

This will be a broad and varied role where you will be working with managers at all levels to influence, inform, plan and initiate EDI work across the Foundation.

Our ideal candidate will have experience of strategically implementing EDI in a similar position, or a proven track record of achieving success in this field. You will have significant experience of designing and implementing effective EDI strategies and initiatives, advising senior leaders and managers, and a track record in achieving change.

With strong stakeholder management skills, you will bring an understanding of the challenges we face and the solutions to help tackle them.

Most of all we want someone who reflects who we are as an organisation. We refer to our values as our four corners:

Fair Players – open and inclusive in our approach

Star Performers – trusted to deliver

United Team Player – collaborative and easy to work with

Passionate Supporters – flexible and willing

If you share these values and have the necessary skills and experience for the role, then we look forward to hearing from you.

What can we offer you?

The salary band for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, pro-rated and dependent on experience. This role is for a 2 year fixed-term and we will consider both applications for both full-time and part-time working.

You will start on 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, plus additional time off to volunteer. We also offer a generous pension scheme (8% employer contribution), collective bonus scheme, free health care provision, a monthly gym subsidy, interest-free season ticket loan, death in service benefit and access to selected match tickets

We are committed to helping our team members maintain a healthy work-life balance, so offer flexible working around core hours to help achieve that.

Equality and Diversity Commitment

We request that all applicants complete our equal opportunities form as part of the application process. This anonymous and confidential form helps the Football Foundation to build up a picture of who is applying to join the organisation, and to monitor progress in this area. The link to complete this is in the application process.

The Football Foundation is committed to, and values the principles of diversity, equality, and inclusion. We strive to provide an inclusive and supportive working environment where all our team feel respected and supported in fulfilling their potential. We encourage and welcome applications from all, regardless of background and are particularly interested to hear from individuals belonging to under-represented groups including diverse ethnic communities, individuals with a disability and those from the LGBTQI+ community.
