Job Description

Whilst we are still a relatively young organisation, having only become an independent Housing Association 7 years ago, Gloucester City Homes (GCH) has a rich heritage and deep roots within the communities we serve, and we are recognised as one of the best housing providers to work for. We are looking for a new Chair to lead us in the next stage of developing thriving communities where people are proud to live and where they can be their best.

Not only do we provide over 5,000 homes supporting more than 12,500 customers, but we exceeded our targets in developing much needed new homes. All these homes meet the Government’s decent homes standards. Highly valued and trusted by our customers and stakeholders, we have a 10-year strategic plan which focuses on customers and their communities, providing valued services that are easy to access and inclusive.

It is a great time to join GCH and we want our new Chair to lead and inspire us and our partners to deliver on the opportunities open to us in and around Gloucester. We want someone who will embrace our values of pride, quality, integrity, and innovation to achieve our vision of building homes and communities where people can thrive. At GCH, we are interested in attracting applications from a range of diverse backgrounds that reflect the diversity of the city.

Our culture continues to evolve and has progressed from our local authority roots, and you will bring a new perspective in order to facilitate our continued growth and development. Whilst you might not be a housing professional, you will have a healthy appreciation for regulation and governance, and the challenges and opportunity we face. You’ll be a leader who supports, engages, and challenges, looking for a rare opportunity where you genuinely can make a difference.

For further information, please click Apply. Should you then wish to discuss the opportunity further, please contact Simon Wing on 0207 426 3976, Rachel Salvia on 0207 426 3374 or Ellie Masters-Gregory on 0207 426 3988 at GatenbySanderson.

All applications should be received by 9:00am Monday 11th July 2022.
