Job Description

We are a specialist provider of quality housing and support services, typically helping over 1,000 people at any one time from vulnerable backgrounds across the North West, Midlands, Derbyshire, South Yorkshire and North Wales. Our mission statement is ‘Restoring hope and dignity’, and we help our residents and service users lead independent lives and integrate into the world of work.  Formed to benefit communities and based on our founder’s Christian values, Adullam’s work continues today as an expression of Christian faith in action.

We are now looking for two new Board Members who strongly identify with our ethos and values, and who will bring the required skills to our highly committed Board. This is an opportunity to influence our future success, helping us to build even stronger partner relationships to provide housing and support for some of society’s most vulnerable groups. We are financially strong, committed to remaining independent and immensely proud that people have been at the heart of everything we’ve done over the past 50 years.

Either an established or aspirational Board Member, we are seeking candidates who bring the required professional expertise and ideally represent the diversity of our communities and service users. Amongst the skills we are looking to attract are: strategic business planning; financial expertise, although not necessarily a qualified accountant; HR, especially the people aspects of delivering support services; marketing and communications allied with developing strategic partnerships; and digital / media skills from a customer facing organisation.

Although being a practicing Christian is an essential requirement for some roles within our organisation, it is not the case for the Board Member positions. An appreciation of our Christian values and heritage is, however, essential. The time commitment is expected to be in the region of one day per month.

The closing date is 9am on Monday 7th February 2022.
