Welsh Government is looking to appoint a Chair, Deputy Chair and six Non-Executive Members to the soon to be established Citizen Voice Body for Health and Social Care. This will be a new and ambitious organisation which will come into operation on 1 April 2023. The Citizen Voice Body (CVB) for Health and Social Care will:
a) be an independent body representing the interests of the public in health and social services which reflects the inter-dependency of these services.
b) have the ability to provide complaints advice and assistance in relation to NHS complaints and complaints relating to social services where services are not already in place;
c) be a single corporate body, to ensure consistency in the arrangements and services provided across Wales ; and
d) have statutory powers so public bodies responsible for providing and securing the provision of health and social services must have regard to representations made by the CVB and must make arrangements to support it in the exercise of its functions.
This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of an organisation which will make a difference to the people of Wales. The establishment of the CVB will strengthen governance and accountability, represent the interests of the public and operate across health and social care.
The Chair, Deputy Chair and Non-Executive Members will be required to play a full and active role in the governance of the CVB. As a full Board member you will be required to contribute in setting the strategy and plans of this new organisation, hence the early appointment of the Board in April 2022. In addition you will be expected to challenge constructively, participate actively in the decision-making process of the
Board, and provide scrutiny of the performance of the organisation in meeting agreed goals and objectives.
It is the policy of the Welsh Government to promote and integrate equality of opportunity into all aspects of its business including appointments to public bodies.
