As such we are now looking for a Chief Digital Officer to join our dedicated and energetic Board.

About the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), this role is a key part of our senior leadership team, operating at Board level, and will be responsible for shaping, delivering and owning our digital strategy as well as the management and continuous improvement of our technology systems and processes. You will work closely with all key stakeholders, and play an influential role with NHS and care organisations across the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Integrated Care System.  Working in partnership with our Integrated Care Board and ICS Digital lead, you will be driving forward the ICS digital programme to deliver a shared/aligned infrastructure that underpins wider population health capabilities, multi-disciplinary clinical team working and digesting care pathways.

Responsibilities:

- Ensure the continued provision, maintenance and improvement of operational technology that is efficient, reliable and cost effective to include data centre services, applications, desktop services, networks, cyber security, software licencing and service desk

- Shape and execute the vision, strategic direction and roadmap for digital transformation that reflects the needs of both the Trust, patients and staff 

- Partner with the ICS Digital Leadership community to align digital strategies and programmes that deliver improved population health outcomes 

- Drive the data agenda and ensure the Trust is up to date with relevant emerging technologies. 

- Lead, inspire and develop technical capability, ensuring an inclusive and collaborative culture is maintained and amplified increasing the diversity of teams across the Trust

- Act as the Senior Responsible Officer for Strategic partnerships and relationships that cover all key technology towers . 

- Act as senior relationship and contracts owner for a number of service providers, working with procurement to ensure successful strategic partnering and holding providers to account for high quality outputs

- Work with the broader healthcare and local community ecosystem to explore further possibilities for innovation and investment

Essential Criteria:

- Proven experience of setting, communicating and translating a strategic vision into deliverable operational plans

- A proven track record of leading and delivering large scale digital delivery and technology transformation programmes, ideally with experience of hybrid cloud-based and ‘on-premise’ solutions

- Highly resilient, with ability to remain calm under pressure and produce effective, strategic response plans

- Proven commercial expertise including contract negotiation and supplier management, establishing and improving supplier performance standards and managing £mm budgets 

- Proven success of building high-performing and cross-functional technical teams, establishing and owning key performance indicators whilst raising performance levels and developing critical capabilities

- Proven ability to establish, develop and maintain effective working relationships with all colleagues, partners and diverse stakeholders to deliver impact with excellent communication and influencing skills

- Working knowledge and understanding of industry standard security issues and processes
