Practice Lead - London Innovation and Improvement Alliance (LIIA)

2-years Fixed Term Contract (Politically Restricted Post)

Who we are

The London Innovation and Improvement Alliance (LIIA) is the Association of London Directors of Children’s Services (ALDCS) sector-led improvement partnership and is hosted by London Councils. We exist to facilitate collaboration to address ALDCS priorities, provide a platform for innovation, identify and share effective practice and produce and make accessible shared datasets.

Aligned to ALDCS priorities our programme is precisely focused on four key workstreams including; Adolescent Safeguarding, SEND, Resources and Workforce, underpinned by cross cutting themes, leading the delivery or work with London’s local authorities to collaborate in improving the outcomes and experience for children in the capital.

To support the successful delivery of Your Choice, one of LIIA’s most significant and prominent programmes within our Adolescent Safeguarding workstream, we are seeking a highly motivated Practice Lead with enthusiasm, innovative ideas, strong influencing skills and the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a dynamic policy environment.

What you’ll do

LIIA has a varied and exciting programme of work, delivering research, joint projects and policy advocacy to support children’s services within the boroughs. 

As a professional, qualified in clinical / forensic psychology, the Practice Lead will work as part of the London Innovation and Improvement Alliance (LIIA) team and be responsible for implementation, oversight, co-ordination and quality assurance of the Your Choice Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Programme across the London region, working with Directors of Children’s Services and service leads, VRU/VRP, Home Office/Youth Endowment Fund and evaluators.

You will work closely with all London local authorities to support the ALDCS delivery of the Your Choice programme and ensure effective stakeholder involvement, consultation and communication relating to the programme.  This includes representing LIIA at existing children’s services forums and the development of new forums and networks where needed and providing policy research, information, advice and support on issues relating to children’s services in local government in London.

You’ll hold responsibility for the project management and delivery of the Your Choice programme involving responsibility across key workstreams, bringing expertise and a track record of delivering therapeutic services to children and young people, providing successful project management and leadership within a multi-disciplinary public or private sector organisation, working effectively within a complex political environment.

A qualification in clinical / forensic psychology is essential for this role, with knowledge and experience of delivering cognitive behavioural therapeutic interventions.
