Do you have the people management skills and experience to motivate and manage a Helpdesk Support Team? Join us as IT (Support) Manager and you’ll have an opportunity to show what a difference IT can make by providing the exceptional IT services and Helpdesk support that will enable Greenpeace to win its campaigns.

Greenpeace is an international non-profit global campaigning organisation. Our independence and global reach enable us to stand for positive change through action in order to defend nature and promote peace. We investigate and expose global environmental problems, confront those in positions of power and present alternative solutions.

You’ll manage and deliver all of the necessary IT systems and supporting services with all appropriate security, cost effectiveness and accessibility. Leading, motivating and developing the Helpdesk team and other staff, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that Greenpeace staff have the knowledge and skills they need to make the best use of IT tools, through a mixture of effective people management, communication, individual support, advice and 1:1 training.

Working with relevant stakeholders to develop, maintain, and implement an IT roadmap for desktop tools that supports the goals of the organisation, you’ll also help to deliver IT plans using relevant project management techniques and good practice, involving both technical and non-technical staff.

You'll have

Experience of managing and motivating all or part of an IT Helpdesk team, with the ability to provide technical information effectively to non-technical staff, verbally and in writing.

A background that includes some or all of the following: 2nd line desktop/mobile support, training, networking, IT infrastructure, project management, information security – including the ability to proactively identify problems and offer training and solutions.

Knowledge of current technology trends and industry best practice relevant to the effectiveness of an organisation like Greenpeace.

A proven ability to plan and manage multiple projects concurrently.

A real interest in our mission and the principles of non-violent direct action.

You’ll be encouraged to develop both personally and professionally, taking advantage of the wide range of learning and development opportunities available to our staff. We offer great benefits such as a generous pension scheme, subsidised lunches, free yoga and a wealth of well-being resources, just to name a few. Take a look at our Work for Greenpeace pages to find out more about what it’s like to work for us and why you should apply.

We are happy to consider flexible working requests as part of the recruitment process.
