Our Net Zero Buildings and Industry Group has an ambitious portfolio, showing real global leadership in driving down emissions. Joining us as Deputy Director: Net Zero Strategic Delivery, you will play a leading role in a critical agenda at the heart of Government. Overseeing the work of our recently established Net Zero Strategic Delivery Team, you will be instrumental to the successful transformation of the economy, and to the preservation of the planet. 

About the role

You will develop an ‘intelligence’ function to proactively engage and advise the senior figures who drive our range of Net Zero projects and programmes. Under your leadership, the team will ensure that risks, issues and dependencies across the portfolio are aligned, integrated and managed appropriately. Personally providing independent analysis of the portfolio, you will champion best practice. Supporting and, as appropriate, challenging  senior responsible owners of Net Zero initiatives, you’ll ensure lessons are not just learned but also acted upon. It is a role with varied and vital responsibilities spanning portfolio management and planning, governance and resourcing. 

About you

A highly capable leader, you will bring to the role proven experience of delivering large-scale programmes in a complex environment. Expertise in business analysis and strategic planning is also vital. Your ability to engage with and influence diverse senior stakeholders is as impressive as your understanding of the project delivery lifecycle. This equips you to both scrutinise and challenge the delivery and interdependencies of projects and programmes. Your ability to set a clear vision and inspire individuals to deliver excellent results really sets you apart.
