Job Description

Floating Support Coordinator

Northumberland

Full Time (37.5 hours per week), Permanent

Salary from £19,300 to £20,250 per annum, plus, brilliant benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a brilliant Support Coordinator like you to join our fab and supportive team. Our service provides support to our brilliant customers who have support needs relating to their mental health, learning disabilities and dual diagnosis and who either live in one of our properties or receive floating support in their own homes.

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.

You’ll help change our customer’s lives (and our services) for the better by undertaking risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. You’ll create bespoke and personalised support plans with and for your customers. Each plan will look to meet our customer’s individual needs and aspirations, making sure they meet safeguarding and confidentiality requirements. You’ll also have responsibility for coordinating our support workers, apprentices and volunteers, and working collaboratively with external agencies, to assess and engage support for our customers.

We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together we’ll make a difference!

Support Coordinator Working hours

We are looking for colleagues to join us on day shift. You’ll work on a rota basis between the hours of 8am – 8pm and take your turn working days, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

Being a Support Coordinator

You’ll help our customers identify their aspirations, and work with them to create plans that help them achieve these. You also help your colleagues to deliver on the plans you’ve created to achieve excellence. Our aim is to support our customers to live their day to day lives as independently as possible.

The team will tell you that no two days are ever the same because everything we do is “person centred” around our customers. You might help with personal care (like bathing and issuing medication) in the morning and supporting them to attend college in the afternoon. We even help customers to go on holiday! Like our team, we’re sure you’ll find the role ever so rewarding.

Customer quote

“If I had to sum the supported accommodation up in one sentence, I would say… it’s spectacular…it’s just life changing”

About our team

Our team describe themselves as really friendly and approachable. In fact, when new members have joined us in the past, it’s been said that they felt welcomed by colleagues and our customers from day one!

We’re also super passionate about supporting customers and celebrating their achievements. With colleagues as warm and team spirited as ours, were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’!

Our manager is Rachel, who has worked for homegroup for over 6 year and has developed into her management role. There are 21 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! Our colleagues have said:

If you’re not the biggest fan of technology, that’s not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high-tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However, we’re glad to support you, if you need help.

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

As this is a community-based role, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay you expenses to cover this use!

Bank

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.

PLEASE NOTE:

We strongly recommend that you do not provide your bank account details when applying for a job. If you see a vacancy on Asian Jobsite requesting bank account details please email webmaster@asianjobsite.co.uk
