About this role

The Senior Manager, Risk Digital leads the implementation of the BT risk management strategy and framework (including Group Risk Categories rollout and ongoing management) in Digital; and is the bridge between specialist central functions and the Unit for risk, compliance and assurance matters. They will help to embed smart Risk Management into Decision Making / Review Fora, Excecutive meetings and Day-to-Day Management as appropriate. They will support Digital to ensure potential risks and regulatory requirements (both for Communications and non-Communications regulation) that place for if things go wrong. They will also support Digital to comply with internal codes of conduct, policies, standards and procedures.

Through leveraging the resource and activity of the central RCA team, they will provide risk advice and assurance to Digital including providing access to specialists for programmes and decisions. They will also provide assessments to the Digital Director(s), and Board Committees as required regarding the effectiveness of the risk management program in Digital and areas for improvement.

You'll have the following responsibilities

The role holder will be accountable for leading the creation of a risk and assurance environment that offers a competitive edge for Digital


Act as the primary business partner to Digital on risk management whilst occasionally supporting on Compliance activities

Work with the Group Risk team to ensure the Group's risk framework is embedded within Digital

Provide highly quality advice and coaching on Digital strategy and the risks to it

Identify instances where deeper technical support may be needed by Enterprise to analyse and respond to risk and regulatory requirements

Provide training, advice and coaching to Digital to support the development of a strong risk culture

Prepare and present regular risk reports for Digital executives, Group RCA and other senior audiences

Act as a primary point of contact for Digital risk-related queries from across the business


Lead assurance reporting on risk management in Digital and presenting reports to Digital and RCA leadership

Lead second line assurance cover and advise on the implementation of the BT risk framework

Advise on prioritisation of assurance activities within Digital and act as point of escalation for timely closure of assurance findings

Additional Tasks

Provide occasional support to Compliance activities carried out by Digital RCA team

Act as an ambassador for RCA initiatives within Digital

You'll have the following skills & experience

Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills with a strong ability to communicate at senior levels

Highly experience in the use of risk management and assurance frameworks and tools including the Three Lines of Defence Model

Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and ability to understand and interpret regulatory developments

Experience in risk and assurance leadership in organisations with significant complexity

Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of the value drivers of the business
