Job Description

Independent Non-Executive Director – Development

Saffron is a forward-thinking housing association based in Norfolk, providing quality homes and services to people across the county and in Suffolk.

We are a medium-sized, independent housing association and we remain committed to the communities we were created to serve. We also offer specialist homes for older and vulnerable adults and are committed to providing sustainable new homes to help solve the housing crisis.

Our vision of “Quality Homes for Positive Futures” is fundamental to what we do, and we want to continue to challenge ourselves to develop and manage homes for people in need and, through our services, enhance their life chances.

We are on an exciting journey, one that requires agility in how we develop our business, and we are continually looking at how we respond to the challenges ahead, maximising the opportunities that present themselves.

As part of this journey, we are looking to strengthen our Board by bringing on new skills and we are now looking for an outstanding first-time or experienced Non-Executive Director to join us.   We are looking for expertise in land-led development and individuals who can bring considerable strategic leadership experience and fresh perspectives to the Board.  We are interested in attracting applications from a range of diverse backgrounds and also to hear from candidates with a local connection to our geographic areas, or knowledge of our communities.

You’ll demonstrate strategic leadership experience from progressive and people-centric organisations, along with an energetic style and a focus on high levels of performance as we deliver the best possible customer and community outcomes. Appreciating the multi-stakeholder and regulated environment in which we operate, this is an excellent opportunity to join us and utilise your track record of innovation, creativity and risk management.

If you have the skills and experience to help us achieve our considerable potential, then please download the candidate pack by clicking Apply. For a confidential discussion, please contact our advising consultants at GatenbySanderson: Rosie Gunn on 0207 426 3998 or Kate Merson on 0207 426 3376.

The closing date for this role is Friday 29th October at 5pm.
