The Electoral Commission is the independent body that regulates party and election finance, sets standards for well-run elections and encourages people to register to vote.
Job Description
The Head of Regulatory Support will be required to deliver an effective, data-driven, risk-led, consistent and proportionate proactive regulation of the rules on political finance. You will lead a team focusing on engaging with political parties and campaigners to support them in following electoral law, with a focus on the development and delivery of new and innovative tools designed to meet the needs of different types of stakeholders.
In addition, your team will write publish guidance for political parties and campaigners on registration and political finance; deliver clear and robust advice; and carry out risk based audits and reviews of political parties’ and campaigners’ financial processes.
You will also be part of the senior leadership of the Regulation Directorate, and a member of the Senior Leadership Group of the Commission. You will be expected to actively contribute to the leadership of the Commission.
Role Requirements
You will need to have substantial experience of working with a wide variety of stakeholders and external partners, including influencing and relationship management. You will be able to demonstrate strong management and leadership skills and have the ability to take evidence-based, proportionate decisions within a statutory framework.
This is a full-time permanent position which could be considered on a job-share basis.
