Job Description

About the role

We are looking for an Associate Product Manager to join our Proposition and Product Management team, you will play a key role in owning the product roadmap and working with stakeholders to deliver our existing products to time and quality expected by our customers and driving insight driven continuous improvement across our customer and the wider social and economic benefits associated with the Public Sector Geospatial Agreement (PSGA).

Our products and services help users make real world impact for GB through world-class geospatial propositions, products and platforms delivered under PSGA, our team ensure that OS data and services are at the heart of critical service and infrastructure, driving a new era in insights and decision making for GB.

With a focus on identifying and meeting customer needs whilst providing leadership and direction for the business, the role will deliver evidence-based portfolio management across the Product Lifecyle demonstrating and delivering outcomes.

You will manage a portfolio of products through their lifecycle, defining and implementing product improvements, securing budget/resource, resolving product quality issues, creating and maintaining documentation and collateral.

You will join a passionate and supportive team at the heart of our business working closely with colleagues across our customer facing units and Operations to inform and deliver the OS Product portfolio.

What we’re looking for 

Have a can-do attitude with desire to make a difference and solve problems based on insight, ability to translate customer needs

You are a strong communicator with excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

Ideally experience of managing a portfolio of products through their lifecycle, maintaining product roadmap and prioritising product improvements to drive product improvements.  Ability to define and execute product vision and strategy

Proven experience of being outcome focused, setting product/service performance goals, measuring performance using qualitative and quantitative data to inform business decision making

Customer focused, able build relationships to ensure that the product team are the “voice of the customer”

Ability to collaborate with cross functional teams to build relationships, solve problems and develop solutions

Understanding of the value of user engagement to inform product management

Demonstrate your ability to influence stakeholders across a matrix organisation

Active listening skills with the ability to articulate technical into a customer friendly narrative to maximize impact in the market

Must be able to communicate technical, business requirements and needs effectively and clearly – both written/visually and verbally

Understanding and/or experience in product management or project management in a technical environment
