The Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust provides services at a 600 bedded General Hospital on the Countess of Chester Health Park, and a 70 bedded rehabilitation and intermediate Care Service at Ellesmere Port Hospital. We have almost 4,000 dedicated staff providing a comprehensive range of high-quality medical services to more than 445,000 patients per year from an area covering Western Cheshire, Ellesmere Port, Neston, and North Wales.

We are committed to achieving continuous improvement in the safety and quality of all our patient services and our vision is to improve the lives of our community and provide excellence in healthcare, through partnership and innovation.  We are working to achieve this by acting as a key partner in our health and care partnership locally and in the wider Cheshire and Merseyside region; working with partners to transform public services through integration that meets our populations’ needs.  As we respond to the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognise and value the significant resilience and commitment of our dedicated workforce and the importance of creating a culture in which they are both empowered and supported.

At this time of significant transformation in health and care services we are seeking a new Non-Executive Director to join our ambitious, unitary board and to Chair our Finance and Performance Committee.  Providing high scrutiny, strong governance, risk management and strategic leadership within our board; we are seeking a values-driven leader with relevant business and finance acumen. We are committed to building a diverse Board and we welcome perspectives from those with backgrounds that will complement our existing members.  Whilst some knowledge of the health and care sectors may be valuable, we are open to applicants from all sectors who offer relevant depth of experience at board level.  This is an excellent opportunity to use your skills and experience to make a difference to the experience and futures of both our staff and the communities we serve.
