Job Description

UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) is the Arm’s Length Body (ALB) of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport (DCMS), responsible for tackling doping in sports and prosecuting violations of the World Anti-Doping Code (the Code). 

UKAD is responsible for the implementation and management of the UK’s National Anti-Doping Policy, as well as ensuring the UK is compliant with the UNESCO convention, and the Code, for educating and informing athletes and athlete support personnel, and carrying out anti-doping tests across a number of funded and professional sporting bodies to determine and prosecute anti-doping rule violations. The organisation are seeking to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer who can lead and manage UK Anti-Doping to deliver and continue the development and initiatives that have put anti-doping efforts in British sport at the forefront of this global fight.

With the Board recently setting out a clear direction and mission in the publishing of their ambitious 4 year strategic plan, it is apparent that it will be led by innovation, intelligence and research to keep ahead of potential threats in this space and in turn proactively influence anti-doping policies both domestically and internationally.

Thus, the need for a CEO who embodies UKAD’s values of Integrity, Collaboration, Excellence and Passion is without question.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working at Board level within either the public or private sector with an ability to develop a sound knowledge and awareness of anti- doping in sport. They will have experience of managing and leading an organisation in a regulatory landscape and the governance surrounding it as well as the ability to interpret the commercials of a business.
