What we're looking for

We are looking for an individual with extensive experience in Leadership and Talent development, ideally in a Centre of Expertise setup, within in a high performing HR function. You should have a demonstrable background in strategy development and delivering impactful change in the talent & leadership arena against strategic objectives.

We want you to bring your experience of  Leadership and Talent Development, understanding of new emerging trends and your commercial acumen to Direct Line Group to help us create a build relevant, diverse talent pipelines & develop leadership effectiveness in line with business needs and direction.

Youll be tasked with designing and delivering a Leadership and Talent strategy which takes inspiration and influence from external sources both within and outside of the financial services sector.

Youll iterate this strategy over time, partnering closely with the business to understand our changing needs as well as keeping focus on the fast-paced skills market to ensure the DLG approach is relevant and innovative today as well as in the future.

What you'll be doing:

Facilitate the creation of a dynamic leadership & talent development strategy and high-level roadmap to build leadership effectiveness, ensure robust succession and develop diverse talent pipelines, iterating this over time.

Work with colleagues in HR to design key tools, frameworks & processes and lead the design of leadership development programmes as well as ensuring their long-term success against deliverables.

Advocate technological enablement of leadership / talent activities wherever possible to enhance empowerment, inclusivity & fantastic colleague experience at optimal cost.   Showcase solutions that make this possible.

Lead communities of practise to build capability in talent & leadership development across the function. 

Determine metrics, measures & dashboards that will measure effectiveness of talent / leadership strategies & enable a more data driven, predictive way of approaching talent & leadership development. 

Facilitate the Group talent review process working with HRBPs to ensure it runs smoothly & delivers insights & actions at a Group level.

Determine leadership & talent groups / forums that are required, ensuring they have clear purpose.  Ensure membership lists & entry criteria exist and are up to date, relevant & understood.  Support design of leadership events

Own the philosophy, principles & high level architecture of the Group performance & development process.

Own the external coaching faculty

Who youll be working with:

Youll be working within the Grow COE, reporting to Louise Harrison, the Grow CoE Lead. Youll build solid relationships with both internal talent specialists, people partners and HR Delivery as well as business leaders to understand leadership & talent requirements and how they connect to strategic objectives and key results.

Youll be an inspiring leader in HR, collaborating across multiple teams both within HR and the wider business to scope, shape and eventually deliver a leadership & talent strategy that shapes our culture, creates a more diverse leadership community and drives our performance.
