Job Description

Here at the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), we believe a financially healthy nation is good for individuals, communities, businesses, and the economy. As the largest single funder of free debt advice in England we helped almost 1.26 million people with debt advice, money guidance and pension guidance in the 2019/20 financial year. Were looking for people who have the right skills, knowledge, and behaviours for the job, but equally as important is a strong commitment to our objectives, values and vision.

Technology is a key enabler of our work, helping us to reach people and deliver services in an efficient and cost effective way.

As Chief Technology Officer, you will be leading our overall technology platform strategy.

You will lead, inspire, and motivate a team and external partners to deliver high quality service management, cyber security controls and architect technology solutions around our Target Operating Model in support of our strategic projects as well as other BAU demands. You will drive continuous improvement in the way we leverage the platforms and capability we have; ensuring we exploit the platform capabilities we have to best advantage.  The role also owns delivery of operational technology services (including workplace technology and specialist line-of-business solutions).

For this critically important role, we require someone who has a wealth of experience of technology platform delivery and a strong understanding of providing services to internal customers. You will be a strategic thinker with a strong commercial understanding and the ability to translate across relevant technology platforms, up-to-date knowledge of technology standards and best practices and a background of delivering large scale technology platform implementation and migration projects.

Aside from technology skills, we also need excellent stakeholder management skills with an ability to keep customers and your team engaged and informed.
