Plus, brilliant benefits!

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. Thats when it hits home!

We have a brilliant opportunity for you to join our fab team in Exeter, helping support our customers in their 5 bedroomed detached house. You will be helping them identify their aspirations, and work with them to create plans that help them achieve these. You will help your customers, who are generally over 18 years old, to gain independence within the community, and to build on the support networks and skills to live fulfilling lives.

Our service provides a person-centred support package for our customers who have a range of mental health conditions with complex and challenging needs. We help our customers by supporting them in their homes, helping them to learn and develop life skills and manage their own risks and outcomes. All of this will help them gain independence and the skills needed to move forward in the right direction. All our customers are unique, and very different in their own ways, meaning we need to adapt how we support them.

The job isnt always easy, and our customers can be tough to support at times, however it is hugely rewarding!

About our team

Our amazing team describe themselves as really friendly and approachable, as we dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too! It has been said by new starters previously that they not only felt welcomed by colleagues but by our customers also and that was from day one!

There are over 40 of us who work in our amazing team, many of whom have started in supported roles and progressed their careers within Home Group. We fully support internal progression, in fact, Becky is now our Registered Manager and has worked in the service for six years in total and is still eager to progress further. We also have Ian, our Mental Health Practice Lead. He has been with us for a few years now and is loving the transition he made from the NHS. Becky and Ian are just two examples, you too could be one of our success stories if you choose to come on board!

Working hours

You will be supporting our customers in a 24-hour service. Shifts will vary but you will work on a rota basis taking your turn working weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of your customers, however we will be flexible too to find and agree a working pattern that suits us all!

If you would rather work for us on a more casual basis, we can help you with that too, as we do have bank shifts available. If this is of interest, please visit our website to find out more!

About you

Youre passionate and motivated. To you providing care and support is more than just a job, you make every customer feel valued and respected. Youre compassionate and use your unique empathy and creativity skills to help our customers reach their full potential. Treating your customers with integrity, you ensure that they always maintain their dignity.

Youll help change our customers lives (and our services) for the better. Youll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds creating bespoke and personalised support plans with and for our customers. This includes undertaking risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. Youll also have responsibility for coordinating our support workers, apprentices and volunteers, and working collaboratively with external agencies when needed.

To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!) Youll be using the latest kit shared between the staff in the service office and as most of our systems are computer based, we will be more than happy to support you.

Experience and skills are always desirable, especially in mental health, however, none of these are any good without the right attitude, energy and approach. If you think you fit the bill then we would welcome your application. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help you to understand how things work at Home Group!

It would also be amazing if you drive and have access to a vehicle (we do pay your expenses to cover this use!), but it's not a deal breaker if you don't!

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
