Were currently recruiting for an Investment Operations Part VII Lead to join our Investment Solutions department. The role holder will be responsible for coordinating the Part VII activities relevant to the Standard Life unit linked funds and ensure that delivery is aligned with the Group objective of creating one life company in 2022. Risk mitigation to both customers and to the shareholder must be achieved in this delivery. Activities will include: 

 

Using SME experience to define the scope of the operational changes required and implementing them within the timescales, including fund splitting and fund consolidation; 

Engaging with the Fund Accountant & Custodian and Asset Managers to ensure that the operational changes are clearly defined to them and to mitigate risk to the BAU operation 

Developing a resource plan to ensure successful delivery which may require recruitment and management of a small team of SMEs to support that delivery;

Engaging with other transformational projects ensuring that co-dependencies are mapped and appropriate solutions are developed to de-risk the delivery;

Using data, management information, SME knowledge and experience (from Investment Solutions and other business areas) to provide effective communication and governance reporting for internal forums, and appropriate board reporting.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Manage relationships with colleagues at all levels, providing support and technical guidance to ensure successful delivery of objectives and the ability to tackle work across own and other business areas with confidence.

Manage the oversight and delivery of Technical Investment Solutions processes, ensuring all controls and governance principles are applied resulting in high quality and accurate outcomes for the Unit Linked Investment solution functions.

Manage the delivery of operational, product and proposition improvements to achieve a robust and ongoing confidence in Unit Linked Investment solutions, generating efficiencies where appropriate.

Manage stakeholders and help in diagnosing problems, supporting stakeholders explore improvements and play a consultancy role in relation to Unit linked Investment Solutions and supporting governance and operational capabilities.

To demonstrate leadership as a subject matter expert in Unit Linked Investment Solutions when supporting change programs and business development for products and services

To set and maintain adherence to the the Phoenix Group Unit Linked Policies and underpinned functional standards, which documents and set out Phoenix Group approach to the unit linked functions.

Be the 1st line of defence for operational risk management ensure functions are effectively managed within the risk management framework.

Ensuring that the team is developed to provide Phoenix with the specialist technical knowledge needed to support its Unit Linked investment solutions.

Assimilating complex and detailed technical information to present in a clear, understandable and persuasive way, to a variety of audiences including senior staff and cross-divisional/external stakeholders.

Understanding the key activities/responsibilities of teams within the Investment Solutions area to effectively represent the area on projects/at meetings and understand the wider impact of proposals etc. - be an advocate of the wider area.

The job holder will be involved in negotiations and managing relationships with third party content providers and strategic partners.

People management responsibility ensuring delivery of responsibilities for Phoenix Unit Linked investment solutions.

What Were Looking For

 

Essential

Investment Operations experience, specifically a fund acounting and custody background

Experience of delivering transformational change

Education - Undergraduate Degree (or equivalent)

Languages English
