Overview

The Commercial Analyst will play a pivotal role within the Mail Metro Media commercial team to strengthen the level of reporting, forecasting and insight support across the organisation.  This is a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, leveraging data insight and analysis to inform commercial decision-making for the worlds largest English language newspaper website.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver commercial performance analysis and reporting for all MMM digital properties (incl. MailOnline, Metro.co.uk, iNews.co.uk)

Prepare analysis, documents and reports needed to inform business review and annual budgeting processes

Provide commercial insights to support data-driven decision making; help build MMM strategy by undertaking analysis and producing forecasts and projections for new business opportunities

Assist wider commercial team with ad hoc data and insight requests

Desired Experience & Skills

- 2+ years experience in a business consulting firm, or in a commercial planning, financial planning & analysis or similar role

- Great problem-solving skills and a love of numbers; an ability to process data and draw insightful conclusions

High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with proven experience in analysing, summarising and manipulating large volumes of data

- Experience with forecasting, budgeting and data analysis

- Excellent attention to detail and data input accuracy

- Able to communicate complex problems and analysis simply, and act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders

- Self-starter who can take initiative, work independently when required, and set and meet own deadlines
