In this pensions legal role, you'll deliver a range of high quality legal
advice and assistance which meets the commercial and strategic needs of
various business areas within the Insurance & Wealth Division.

You'll be providing general legal advice to all Life & Pensions business
areas to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements with
specific responsibility for pensions law including;

Assisting with the negotiating, drafting and reviewing of a wide variety of
pension documentation including pension scheme rules, booklets and product
terms
*
Managing the legal risks within significant, strategically important
corporate programmes/projects and products
*
Keeping up to date with changes in the law and legal impact of regulatory
changes with particular emphasis on pensions legislation and where
applicable ensure team do likewise
*
Producing legal reporting to line management as required
*
Managing external lawyers and controlling external legal spend
So what about you?
You'll have a very good knowledge of the legal, regulatory and statutory
requirements relating to pensions. Additionally you'll be a lawyer with
pension law experience gained either in practice or industry. You'll also
have experience of advising senior management of blue chip organisations on
the mitigation of legal risks.
Industry experience is preferred but not essential.

This role will ideally be based in Edinburgh however there is a degree of
flexibility on the location; predominantly we’re looking for people
with the skillsets above. The broad base salary banding across the UK is
from £61,700pa to £72,000pa.
