Full Time (37.5hpw)

Pay from £4.62 to £8.91 per hour depending on your age (plus youll achieve an accredited professional qualification - which we pay for and give you time to study towards how awesome!)

Youll be employed for an 18-month period to get stacks of experience and launch your career and if you work hard and do well theres a great chance that youll go on to enjoy a permanent role within Home Group.  The good news is that the majority of our apprentices do stay with us. About the role                        

Our Payroll team delivers a first-class payroll, pension and benefits service for colleagues across Home Group. So, were an important team because we are responsible for making sure that our colleagues get paid accurately and on time!

In this role youll learn loads! Including all about and how to use our payroll systems, how we process all pay related changes for colleagues and some really important legislation around tax and national insurance.

 Youll report into our Payroll Manager, Helen, and be part of the wider team of four Payroll Specialists (Samantha, Ann, Anna and Sarah). Helen enjoys walking her two German Shepherds and we all love to talk on our Monday morning call about how weve spent our lockdown weekends (usually with a walk and lots of TV!)

 Your academic learning will be delivered by one of our specialist apprenticeship providers and you will receive support from an experienced tutor as well as from within your own team. Youll be given time to attend all learning sessions and to complete your studies whilst having access to the learning materials and practical experience that will make a success of your apprenticeship.

Who were looking for

We need you to meet our entry requirements which is four GCSE or equivalent including Maths at grade C/4 or above.

Youre going to really impress us if youre proactive, professional and committed to learn new skills in a professional business environment. At the moment (until lockdown is eased) we are all working from home, so youll also need to be motivated and a real self-starter. Wed also like you to be able to work with real accuracy (because nobody likes to be paid incorrectly!) and have good IT skills, with the ability to use Excel an advantage.
