Senior Client Services Manager

Permanent, Full Time (37.5 hpw)

Salary starts at £25,000 per annum rising to £37,050 per annum through length of service 

On call shift payment of £14.30 per session

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. As a great leader you have a genuine passion to lead our services in delivering aspirational person-centred housing, specialised support. 

Youll have operational responsibility for managing our services which support customers with complex mental health needs.  They live in a beautiful shared house in the centre of Exeter, close to Exeter College and shops.  We help our customers achieve independence and improved wellbeing through person-centred practice and a psychologically informed approach. No two days are the same, so an adaptable, caring and resilient approach are key.

Leading a team of Support Co-ordinators whom you will line manage, youll deliver efficient, high quality, cost effective, person centred practice in partnership with NHS colleagues and other agencies. Youll empower our customers to live independently and make it a great place to work for our colleagues.  As manager and safeguarding lead for your house, youll ensure the high performance and quality assurance of our services using your experience and strong skills in effectively motivating and directing colleagues.  Youll also monitor service performance against contractual targets and ensure that the service is visible and accessible through collaboration with the Registered Manager, Mental Health Practice Lead and the other managers in the service

There are 40 colleagues in the wider team, with 14 at Elm Grove. We dont just love to support our customers, were there for each other too! 

Becky our Registered Manager has worked for Home Group for almost nine years and is generous with both her support and her banana bread. Our colleagues are both local and from all over the world, bringing their diverse approaches to make the service the very special place it is.

You will also join the wider South West, (Devon) management team and will work for our Operations Manager, Viv Garner, who has worked for Home Group from East to West for almost 16 years and has also been a frontline colleague, so she understands the challenges. Outside work, Viv is creative, a passionate crafter, loves gardening, making mosaics and baking brownies, which she loves to share with colleagues.  

Working hours

Here at Home Group we work flexibly, and the focus is on getting the job done, which means trusting and empowering each other. You will be expected to work Monday to Friday, usually based in the service, with some limited facility to work from home.

A bit about you

We want someone like you, who has significant experience in pro-actively managing risk, dealing with challenges, achieving KPIs and budgets and can drive the consistent delivery of high-quality services to meet the needs of our customers and commissioners, in line with CQC regulatory requirements.  

To be awesome in this job, your key strengths lie in collaborative practice, people management and motivation, bringing colleagues together to share information and best practice. Youll maintain strong professional relationships with your peers and their teams as well as external stakeholders.  Well be impressed with your passion for promoting independence and social inclusion, as well as your focus on quality, efficiency and your ability to develop service provision in new and innovative ways.  

We do need you to have an excellent working knowledge of mental health, CQC regulations, housing and care and support sectors, safeguarding processes and housing law.  Youll be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emerging risks to individuals, teams or the contract and its also important that you have excellent communication skills, IT skills and strong analytical skills too. So, join us and lead a team which is doing things differently and spending more time making a real difference to vulnerable peoples lives. 

Experience

To make sure our customers are well supported, its important that you have worked in a mental health recovery service or NHS mental health environment before. Dont worry, we wont drop you in the deep end, well help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

Driving

As this is a leadership in the community-based role, requiring travel to complete assessments and training, you need to be able to drive, as well as having access to a car insured for business purposes. Dont worry, well pay you expenses to cover this use, in line with HMRC rates.

When you join, youll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you dont have a transferrable one.
