Job Description

About the Senior Production Manager (SPM) Role

We are ambitious. We have a fully funded growth strategy built on a desire to be an even more inspiring place to work.  We understand many of the opportunities we should take for our business to remain among the most trusted geospatial partners; you will join our resilient and motivated senior field management team helping implement these changes with a leadership style that provides effective support to your production teams and delivers value to our customers.

Field Surveying Services( FSS) maintains, manages, and delivers the most detailed location data in England, Scotland and Wales, through our 260 staff split in 3 broad geographic regions: Scotland & North, Wales & West and London & East (L&E). L&E covers an extensive area from East Midlands, London & Thames, East Anglia and South-East; each of these areas has a dedicated Production Manager who reports to the SPM. The SPMs work closely together to deliver GB consistency and report to the Senior Operations Manager FSS.  (see note on location below)

Responsibilities:

Provides effective leadership to your production teams that creates engaged and high-performing people and environments

Contributes to and implements an effective production strategy, collaborating and communicating with Surveyors, Production Managers, your fellow Senior Production Managers, and the Senior Operations Manager

Engages with the wider business and externally to explore solutions that provide added value

Responsible for all production deliverables in your area of responsibility, effectively managing risks, resolving challenges and delivering the agreed quality levels to time and budget.

Willing to travel regularly including overnight stays in Great Britain, and potentially overseas

Full driving license

Desirable:

Relevant commercial experience

A preference to find the balance between not doing today what you did yesterday (just because its easier) against changing for change sake

An appreciation of Risk Mitigation and H&S

We want you to love what you do. Thats why our benefits package rewards a job well done. Well give you:

Salary £41,650 to £46,550

BUS Company Car

Performance related bonus

Competitive pension

37 hour working week (with flexible working options)

Were always happy to hear from you, so dont forget to follow us on Twitter, LinkedIn or find us on Facebook.

Location:

Just as with the other two production regions, L&E covers a wide geographic area. It is critically important that the SPMs are visible throughout their areas, regularly meeting their Production Managers and attending regional meetings. We have not made it a requirement that you must live within this region, preferring to recruit the best candidate for the role, however we would need to understand and agree how you propose to manage the region effectively if you live outside its boundaries.
